While mining the concentrated gold there, you can get about 60k mining xp/hour, while also getting around 400k profit. It is one of the best places to train mining. Before you can start mining here, you need at least 77 mining, but 80 aika gold is better. To survive there, 70+ defence is recommended. If you dont have this level, you will probably need some prayer or alternative healing methods. Having Varrock armour 2 is highly recommended as it gets you extra ores sometimes. At this point in time, its hard to tell if the community is going to support Champions Online and help build it into a solid game with a good community. There are simply too many early nay-sayers to tell, and only time will tell if the game - and its community - can work out its issues. If it does, though, I think the Champions Online community will be strong, active, and around for years to come.
As the protectors and strikers are almost everywhere, you will get hit. I have 99 defence, so I have nothing to worry about. Natural HP recovery covers the few times I actually get hit. Of course not everyone has 99 defence, and some people get hit more than others. If you have 70+ defence, simply use barrows helm and legs. They will not hit much on you. For people with less than 70 defence, there are a few options. Either use lower armour, or use prayer. When praying, a bit of defensive gear is still useful, as you wont need to pray with full hp.
